Sendik's Food Market Receives Award for Organics Diversion

Food Waste is something we're quite passionate about here at WasteCap and when we learned that Sendik's Food Market had installed Grind 2 Energy systems in everyone of their stores, we knew they were just as passionate. They are ahead of the game, they saw they had the potential to create energy instead of waste. 

Today, 14.6% of landfills are filled with food waste with 40% of the food in the US going to waste. Of that 40% of food wasted, almost all of that, 97% is going to landfills. ​As Joe said in his award speech, instead of knowing Sendik's for their red bags, soon they will be known for their green heart.
