Are you up for the Living Building Challenge?
The Living Building Challenge is the world’s most rigorous proven performance standard for buildings. People from around the world use its regenerative design framework to create spaces that, like a flower, give more than they take.

Scope of Work
WasteCap can provide the following services, packaged together or selected a-la-carte:
SPECIFICATIONS
The first step for project success is clearly defined specifications for deconstruction, reuse, and recycling of your waste streams. WasteCap will provide an editable template that can be customized to your projects needs, while retaining best management practices.
DESIGN COORDINATION
The Materials Petal can contain unforeseen challenges based on the availability of deconstruction teams and waste diversion capabilities near your intended project site. Engage WasteCap early in the design process to review your materials and recommend changes before they end up as waste products on the job site.
DECONSTRUCTION
WasteCap built its reputation on building deconstruction. WasteCap can provide salvaged material and deconstruction services to help achieve the Embodied Carbon, Responsible Industry and Living Economy imperatives. We invite you to review our Deconstruction for more information on this topic.
REVIEW OF WASTE HAULERS
WasteCap will utilize its Resource Directory to provide you with options within your desired service radius. WasteCap will be able to provide technical assistance, market information and research support to recommend haulers based on their past performance and cost.
WasteCap can also handle any or all waste hauler contracts. Based on your preference, the waste haulers can report directly to the general contractor or be a subcontractor under WasteCap. This will reduce your paperwork and on-site management for pickup requests and scheduling.
WASTE MANAGEMENT PLAN
Creating a construction and demolition waste management plan is a crucial step for your project’s success. WasteCap will develop and implement a plan that will establish waste diversion goals for the project by identifying and providing guidance for the required diversion rates of materials in the Net Positive Waste imperative.
ON-SITE EDUCATION & INSTRUCTION
On-site workshops focused on waste management plan implementation save you the work required to repeatedly instruct site teams or manually separate waste that’s been incorrectly directed.
WasteCap will instruct the contractor, employees and subcontractors about their role in the program. WasteCap will also ensure the the proper placement, timing and labeling of collection bins. If requested, an additional fee for signage will be applied.
ONGOING INSPECTIONS
Regular site and process inspections keep your team on track. WasteCap will interview job site crews, check for missorted materials and correct any errors. Monthly reports of your materials (by weight and volume) will inform you of progress, deficiencies and remediation possibilities.
TRACKING AND REPORTING
WasteCap will compile waste tickets, metrics and reports all in one convenient location. Utilizing WasteCap TRACE, WasteCap will digitally track and produce comprehensive project evaluations. This includes weight, volume, GHG emissions and financial impact. A final report will be completed upon project completion. The WasteCap team will also publicize your results through a case study and press release.
