As Altius considers the current challenges in the construction industry, they focus their business on building trust and relationships. Relationships with trade contractors and vendors need to be second to none, minimizing the potential for both cost and schedule risk.. Aryn Pipkin, Project Administrator & Marketing Coordinator at Altius, explains, “We value a diverse range of customers and projects and we strive not for an ideal customer, but rather long-term partnerships. Effective communication, along with a shared understanding of values, trust, honesty, and transparency are essential for project success.”
Altius backs up their relationships with experience and expertise. In February 2019, Altius was awarded ABC's Project of Distinction Silver Award for The 2100 Urban Residences. Some of the financings for The 2100 included a hand-selected green infrastructure grant from the Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewerage District, in recognition of features that mitigate the stormwater impact. They collaborated directly with a LEED consultant who inspected, documented, and supervised installation and building of all LEED-related systems. The intense planning, preparation, and dedication to creating a healthy, highly efficient green building, was the catalyst for The 2100 earning two scores above the original LEED standard, earning them LEED Gold. As we move further into 2019, Aryn tells us, “The market continues to respond to a heightened demand for sustainable features and practices. With increased cost-saving incentives and environmental benefits, the industry needs to embrace sustainability and green building practices - it is quickly becoming the wave of the future."
