Your used carpet is a valuable
resource;
think twice before you send it to the trash bin!
According to the Carpet Recycling Committee, 1.8 million tons of
rugs and carpets are sent to landfills each year! You
can save valuable landfill space and reduce your waste disposal costs by recycling or
donating your used carpet. When used carpet
is recycled, it is broken down and turned into new products such as carpet face fiber,
carpet backing, soil amendments, auto parts, and flooring materials. If your old carpet is in good condition, you can
donate your carpet for repurposing. Your
carpet will be cleaned, refurbished, and offered to groups who could not otherwise afford
to purchase carpet.
