Are You Aware of Massachusetts’ Waste Bans?


The “Waste Bans” are restrictions on the disposal and transfer for disposal of certain hazardous and recyclable items at solid waste facilities in Massachusetts.
The Waste Bans are designed to:

1.)    Conserve landfill capacity,
2.)    minimize the need for new facility construction,
3.)    and signal recyclables markets that large volumes of material are available         on a consistent basis.
Materials that are included in the Waste Bans:

·         Lead-acid batteries
·         Leaves and Yard Waste
·         Whole Tires
·         White Goods
·         Metal Containers
·         Glass Containers
·         Single Resin Narrow-necked Plastics (soda bottles, detergent bottles, 
      etc.)
·         Recyclable Paper
·         Cathode Ray Tubes
