Your Packaging with
Recycled-Content Paperboard Cartons
Paperboard folding cartons package everything from
aspirin to cereal, toothpaste to software. Paperboard with post-consumer
recycled content has lower environmental impacts and often costs less than
virgin. The best
recycled-content paperboards are also almost identical to virgin in
performance and appearance. So
how can you take advantage of the benefits of recycled paperboard?
Here are some options:
- When
purchasing products, look for those packaged in recycled-content
paperboard rather than virgin.* (Often,
companies will label their boxes as recycled.)
- Ask
your vendors to switch to using recycled packaging.
- Purchase
recycled-content paperboard for your business’ packaging needs.
- Read
the Alliance for Environmental Innovation’s publication Greener
Cartons -- A Buyer's Guide to Recycled-Content Paperboard.
This new guide surveys the options in recycled paperboard and
includes testimonials from packaging engineers.
