The new, online-searchable format:

  • Serves businesses, municipalities, and individuals across the state of MA.
  • Provides detailed searches, resulting in better matches with service providers.
  • Displays a full-page profile of each listed company.

What can the RSD do for you?

  • Save your business $$$
  • Conserve resources
  • Improve your business' public image
  • Avoid costly environmental regulation

Small Businesses: Check with your municipal Department of Public Works or www.cleanup.org to see if your municipality encourages business participation in the community's recycling program.

Residents: Visit www.cleanup.org to verify the recycling services in your community before using the RSD. For more information, also visit the DEP's Consumer Recycling Information web page at www.state.ma.us/dep/recycle/consumer.htm#recycling

Note on Hazardous Waste: This directory is not a comprehensive source of hazardous waste management service providers. Hazardous means that a substance has at least one of four characteristics: ignitability, corrosivity, reactivity, or toxicity. A list of transporters can be found at http://www.state.ma.us/dep/bwp/dhm/files/trnsalph.pdf. Hazardous wastes regulations for Massachusetts are located under the Code of Massachusetts Regulations - 310 CMR 30.000 (found in public and private libraries). The regulations can also be downloaded from the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection's (DEP) website at http://www.state.ma.us/dep/bwp/dhm/dhmpubs.htm#regs. For questions on hazardous waste regulations, call the DEP's compliance assistance line at 617-292-5898.
