Executive Director, Travis Blomberg, recently spent the day in Madison scouting recruits for WasteCap's Board of Directors. In order to find the best candidates, Blomberg attended Nonprofit Draft Day, a fantasy football themed event that brought together interested individuals and innovative nonprofits.
Free agents, also known as Board Member Candidates, were able to pinpoint their favorite nonprofits from bios published before the event. 53 nonprofits in total participated and their focuses ranged from environmental, like WasteCap, to issues such as homelessness.
After mingling with the nonprofits, the potential board members selected those organization they'd be interested in volunteering their time with. Nonprofits then submitted their top picks while the free agents attended a session focused on leadership.
WasteCap is excited to announce the selection of Hui Meng for its Board of Directors. Meng joins the Board with dual language and accounting experience.
After attending WasteCap's March Board meeting, Meng will be able to officially decide if she would like to join the team.
Every week we'll share updates on our latest projects, tips & tricks on recycling, a spotlight on our favorite materials for sale, and more.
